FIRST Robotics Contest 2010 "Frau. POW! V2" - Last year we were rookies and we learned some lessons. Spreading the message of FIRST, we've teamed up with students from Aviano American High School, Italy. We're constructing the designs they CAD. Our club is growing and we've been able to purchase new materials and incorporate better construction techniques in our designs. This year we're using extruded aluminum called 8020 that makes prototyping the chassis fast and flexible. We're also using direct drive Mechanum wheels so our robot has greater mobility. This year's FIRST challenge is called Breakaway!... sort of a game of robo-fussball held on an obstacle course. Our robot is designed to climb over bumps, drive through a tunnel, kick a ball, and suspend from the tower. To learn more, check out our project presentation.
